“The Inferno, Broken in Nine Pieces”, a series of nine works on paper which reflect on emotional states of pain. The image of the chest was inspired by the shape of Botticelli’s “Map of Hell” a key drawing from a series of nearly 100 which were conceived to illustrate “The Divine Comedy” by Dante Alighieri. In my psychological inferno there are no sinners, though, but rather victims of unforeseen events.
