The Inferno, Broken in Nine Pieces, a series of nine works on paper which reflect on emotional states of pain. The image of the chest was inspired by the shape of Botticelli’s Map of Hell a key drawing from a series of nearly 100 that were conceived to illustrate The Divine Comedy by Dante Alighieri. In my psychological inferno there are no sinners, though, but rather victims of unforeseen events.
