The Inferno, Broken in Nine Pieces

The Drawing Hall, Grassobbio (Bergamo), Italy. September 9 – October 1, 2022

The following works on paper are part of The Inferno, Broken in Nine Pieces, a series of nine works on paper that delve into human suffering. The image of the chest was inspired by the shape of Botticelli’s Map of Hell, a key drawing from a series of nearly 100 which were conceived to illustrate The Divine Comedy by Dante Alighieri. In my psychological inferno, there are no sinners, but rather victims of unforeseen events
